The Tennessee REDLINE
Tennessee REDLINE (1-800-889-9789) is a free information and referral line coordinated by TAADAS (Tennessee Association of Alcoholism, Drug Addiction and other Addiction Services) and funded by the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services of Tennessee. The goal of REDLINE is to provide accurate and up-to-date information about alcohol, drug, gambling addiction and other information related to addictions, as well as referrals for all citizens of Tennessee, upon request. Redline provides referrals for alcohol and drug addiction disorders that arise along with mental health disorders.
Tennessee REDLINE is announced on and calls are received from all over Tennessee. Referrals for treatment and referrals to other programs are made through REDLINE. Callers are provided with at least 3 sources of referral whenever possible. REDLINE staff does not offer therapies or advice to the caller or people with substance abuse problems, but gives them the information to communicate with someone who provides a diagnosis, prognosis or mental or physical health assessment to the person using / abuse substances. REDLINE strives to provide the caller with specific referrals based on the needs expressed.
